Since
I started running the EcoSolv
graphic and information box a few weeks ago,
I've had several comments and questions about
our new cleaning process. In this week's Pressing
News, I'll try to give you a little more information
without being too technically boring.
EcoSolv
is a major advance
in petroleum solvent drycleaning and a timely
alternative to traditional solvents. EcoSolv
is considered to be non-hazardous
by the U.S. Government. It provides more
cleaning power than traditional solvents. It's
tough on dirt, yet gentle on fabrics, and exhibits
less dye fading. Best of all, it's essentially
odorless.
EcoSolv
is designed for use in a closed loop
dry-to-dry cleaning system. The
closed loop machines are not vented to the atmosphere.
Even though the technology involved in utilizing
this new solvent is more expensive than traditional
dry cleaning solutions, we believe the benefits
to our customers and community demand it. Two
of our new drycleaning machines are pictured
below. These machines are manufactured in Italy
by ILSA and were designed especially for our
drycleaning plant in Greeley. The two machines
pictured each have a cleaning capacity of 80
lbs of clothing per hour. In addition to the
machines pictured, we have a machine of 40 lb
capacity.
We're excited about the new machines and our
new drycleaning solution and we thank you for
your continued support

Someone asked, just
what Is drycleaning?
Drycleaning is the use of solvents to remove
soil and stains from fabric. It is called "drycleaning"
because the solvents contain little or no water
and do not penetrate the fibers as water does.
Drycleaning solvent is not harmful to any fabric,
and drycleaning is the only safe method for
cleaning many types of garments.
Natural fibers such as wools and silks will
shrink and perhaps lose their color when washed
in water, but will dryclean beautifully. Cottons
and linens, unless they are preshrunk in manufacture,
will also shrink in home laundering. Drycleaning
is particularly effective in removing greasy,
oily stains from synthetic fibers, which have
an affinity for oils.
The professional drycleaner provides more than
just drycleaning. This service also includes
professional removal of problem stains that
will not come out with simple drycleaning. It
also includes professional pressing, careful
packaging, and inspections at every step along
the way to make sure that all stains have been
attended to and the item has been properly pressed
and finished.
Drycleaning can extend the life of your wardrobe,
and your knowledge about drycleaning can bring
you more value for your clothing dollar.
